Hi! My name is Olivia and I am twelve years old and in the sixth grade. I live
in Knoxville, Illinois. I was diagnosed with JDM on February 17, 2006 after
seeing a lot of doctors over a lot of years. I now see Dr. Pachman in Chicago,
and she has really helped me. I am really lucky that she isn't that far away.
I finished taking prednisone a few weeks ago, but still take a lot of other
medications and do physical therapy twice a week. I take dance lessons and play
the drums. I love animals, and I have a lot of pets-- 2 dogs, a cat, a turtle,
a rabbit, and a fish. I would love to hear from other kids with JDM. I can be
