Jim Kilpatrick |
In 2008, Jim Kilpatrick passed
away from complications of Inclusion Body Myositis. Though he struggled against
the disease for decades, he never let it stop him from being a dedicated
supporter of families affected by JM and a fierce advocate for all of the children with JM.
We started Cure JM Foundation in 2003 with nothing but a dream and determination. Without Jim Kilpatrick, Cure JM would not be where it is now. Jim allowed Cure JM to share his message board and
served as a member of the Cure JM Foundation’s
advisory board. He kept his message board running and kept the Myositis
community connected, despite his overwhelming battles with IBM and its complications. Most of us would have chosen to stay in bed, but Jim
was a fighter. He never gave up.
It's that “never give up” attitude that Cure JM will continue to follow...we know we will find a cure for our children and grandchildren, our neices and nephews. And, we will always have Jim to thank for his guidance, his leadership and his never-ending support.
