Keziah

Keziah was the grand prize winner of a national KFC contest where she was recognized as the “Ultimate KFC Fan”! Keziah, then 13, had been battling Juvenile Dermatomyositis with such courage and strength; and was better able to cope with all the hospital visits, medications, fasting, etc. when she knew that she would be eating at KFC afterwards. Keziah’s mom, Karen, entered her in the Ultimate Fan contest; but I think that as everyone gets to know Keziah, we are all becoming HER ultimate fan. She is a very mature young girl, who wants to be a vet when she grows up. She was elated to win this award; not so much because of the free chicken and the all-expense paid trip to Kentucky, but more so because it gives her a chance to increase public awareness of Juvenile Dermatomyositis (check out the links below to read some of the news coverage generated by Keziah). In a TV interview, Keziah said, “I think it can help spread (awareness) because people will know that kids have dermatomyositis and help curing it can help people.” Keziah, you are such a smart girl and you are going to help all of our children battling this disease. You are a hero to all of us at Cure JM!
