Michelle Shewbridge
My name is Michelle Shewbridge. I live in Aberdeen, Maryland with my husband Chris and our daughters, Taylor (14) and Rachel (10). Rachel was diagnosed in May '04 with Juvenile Dermatomyositis (JDM). She is currently on a handful of medications and suffers from calcifications in both legs and feet. She had her third surgery in June '10 to remove calcium deposits on both feet, which make wearing shoes difficult.
What I remember most after her diagnosis is being extremely scared and not having the resources to gather information and find support. I had so many questions and no answers. Finding CureJM was a lifesaver! The information and support I've received is immeasurable, not to mention the friends I've made and families I've met. I hope to help other families by sharing my experience and providing support to help them on this journey. We're all in this together.
