Chairman
Rhonda McKeever serves as Chairman of the Board for the Cure JM Foundation, a position she's held since October 2008. Rhonda provides strategic leadership, oversees all operations of Cure JM and regularly collaborates with Juvenile Myositis (JM) researchers globally. Starting in 2006, Rhonda has been the lead organizer for all Cure JM's national educational and fundraising events. The events, held annually in different cities across the United States, generate approximately 50% of Cure JM's annual revenue and have been critical in establishing medical centers in Chicago and Washington, D.C., that specialize in JM treatment and research.
Rhonda has worked for PepsiCo for 17 years in a wide range of Compensation and Benefit roles. For the past seven years she was a Vice President Compensation and Benefits in roles focused on the biggest operating businesses of PepsiCo in the United States and internationally. In addition to her core job responsibilities, Rhonda served for several years as the Executive Sponsor for EnAble, an employee resource group focused on assisting employees with different needs and abilities.
Rhonda and her husband, Kevin, have two children, Megan and Calvin. Megan was
diagnosed with Juvenile Dermatomyositis in October 2002 at the age of 2½. Megan
was initially diagnosed while they lived in Dallas, Texas. Since that time, they
have moved to Stamford, Connecticut to be closer to family and new job
opportunities.
Beginning in college, Rhonda has been involved in a variety of non-profit
organizations. At Kearney State University, she was an active member of the
social fraternity of Alpha Phi Omega (APO). As an APO, she led a number of
fund-raising efforts and volunteer projects. When she moved to Stamford,
Connecticut the first time, she became a member of the Greenwich Jaycees and
also joined Student Sponsor Partners in New York City. Through her efforts with
the Student Sponsor Partners program, Rhonda was able to help an at-risk high
school student graduate from high school by providing the financial support for
attending a non-public high school and provided as a mentor/coach for several
years. Rhonda’s student successfully graduated high school and went on to
complete college.
Rhonda has a bachelor’s degree from Kearney State University (now University of
Nebraska Kearney) and has a MBA with emphasis in Finance from the University
of Connecticut. She enjoys running, kayaking, playing competitive tennis, traveling and
spending time with her family and Murphy, their yellow Labrador retriever.
