Patti works part-time as a clinical supervisor of an outpatient oncology practice and Nurse Coordinator of the Anticoagulation and Thrombosis Center. She has a BSN from the University of Illinois Medical Center and a MS in Oncology Nursing from Rush University Medical Center, Chicago, Illinois. Past jobs include Unit Leader of a Gynecology Oncology Surgical Unit, Assistant Professor – Rush University College of Nursing and Nurse Coordinator of a Melanoma/Dysplastic Nevus Center. She has also published articles in her field. Patti is an active volunteer. Her activities have included PTA boards, Church leadership board, Sunday school teacher, Girl Scout Leader, American Cancer Society local board, and the Make A Wish Speaker’s Bureau. Patti and her husband Jeff have 4 children, Tom, Kevin, Ryan and Megan. Megan was diagnosed with JDM in September 2004 at the age of 12. The Lawlers enjoyed meeting other Cure JM families at the LaSalle Chicago Marathon and their family recently organized a very successful Chicago area golf outing to benefit Cure JM. Patti has a strong interest in the research aspects of JM. .
